    The Best Emerging Talent award recognises exceptional creativity and innovation in development and delivery of an effective Graduate, Intern, Apprentice and School Leaver Recruitment and development programme.

    Heathrow had a bold objective for the airport’s leadership teams of the future, to improve diversity and help the business achieve a target of 40% women and 60% men in leadership roles by 2020 and parity by 2025.

    In partnership with Heathrow we transformed every step of recruitment from attraction to selection and beyond. A targeted attraction campaign engaged potential applicants, the careers site was upgraded and a new matchme quiz improved self-selection. Then we removed bias from recruitment and developed an engaging new game-based process that improved candidate experience. Recruitment was supported by the human touch to support and coach candidates through the process.

    The steps we took to transform diversity delivered fantastic results. Not only did we achieve Heathrow’s key strategic objective to address organisational gender imbalance, but the changes made to break down barriers in recruitment also had a fantastic impact on broader diversity criteria, including BAME candidate performance. For Future Leader programmes BAME results increased by 100% and females increased 175%.
