The 2025 Amberjack Adjustment Report reveals a significant psychological safety gap; while 24% of the UK working-age population has a disability, only 4.3% of candidates disclosed one during recruitment campaigns. This suggests many candidates fear bias or lack trust in employer processes. The uniqueness of Helen’s approach comes from her expertise in HR & recruitment gained from working at Marks & Spencer and Mars, combined with her first-hand experience of disability; Helen is a wheelchair user following a childhood spinal injury.
Helen founded MyPlus in 2006 with the vision of ensuring that having a disability or long-term health condition doesn’t prevent anyone from having the career they want to have. She is passionate about developing the confidence of employers and disabled students when it comes to employment.
