Willis Towers Watson is a leading global advisory, brokering and solutions company. They help clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth. With roots dating back to 1828, Willis Towers Watson has 39,000 employees in more than 120 countries.
We genuinely didn’t believe that anyone would be able to deliver on such a challenging brief within the timescales. Yet again though Amberjack exceeded expectations.
Willis Towers Watson needed our proven recruitment expertise for telephone interviews. A shortlist of over 300 candidates needed to be interviewed for their business operations in China.
They wanted to ensure new recruits had a good level of written English and spoken Mandarin / English. Candidates also needed to demonstrate the right behaviours and attitudes along with their academic and professional history. Willis Towers Watson would then have a fully rounded picture of both their current capability and their potential.
There were a number of challenges to overcome. Firstly, our interviewers needed both English and Mandarin language skills. Secondly, we needed to accommodate the time differences required for interviewing internationally-based candidates. Thirdly, timescales were very tight. There were just two weeks to organise the interviews, then three weeks to identify the best talent from over 300 candidates.
Our passionate team of bilingual interviewers delivered the interviews in English and Mandarin. And we easily met Willis Towers Watson’s challenging timeframes.
Additionally we created a project tracker. This helped capture and monitor the numbers of candidates moving through the process. We also arranged weekly pipeline calls with Willis Towers Watson to report progress and review actions. This ensured that a sufficient number of candidates passed through each stage of the process. This also meant that Willis Towers Watson had full visibility of our progress at all times.
We exceeded Willis Towers Watson’s needs and expectations. Our quick response, regular pipeline calls and quality output were all supremely efficient. The project was delivered seamlessly across different time zones with no disruptions or delays. Hiring targets were achieved. Willis Towers Watson made 26 quality hires for their Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen offices.
The high-quality interviews we delivered were so successful that Willis Towers Watson has relied on our expertise for further interviews. These included summer interns for China, as well as other hiring needs across the rest of the Asia Pacific region.
