A key part of Cisco’s success has been its partner network. The Cisco global partner community has over 60,000 member companies. These include systems integrators, resellers, distributors, services and technology partners. Their partners are incredibly important accounting for more than 80% of Cisco’s revenue.
The partner community is continually evolving. But demand for IT professionals with the skills to manage and maintain networks continue to grow. All partners found attracting Cisco certified talent challenging. Cisco’s solution to this problem was a multilingual, global job “portal”. This would enable partners to easily connect with talent and vice versa.
Cisco asked us to develop their global recruitment portal. We worked closely with them and created a powerful technology platform. The Cisco Partner Talent Network (CPTN) made it easy to locate either jobs or candidates.
At the heart of the platform was an intelligent candidate / role matching algorithm. This continually evaluates candidate details against job postings from partners and then matches them together. In addition, automated résumé mining and fast keyword searching delivered a truly first-class user experience.
Usability is improved further by single sign-in and integration with LinkedIn. This saved candidates time so that they didn’t have to update their details in two separate systems.
Partners of all sizes have successfully found candidates through the system. From the smallest company with a handful of users to the very largest Cisco partners. But all partners have equal access and equal opportunity to find the best talent.
The CPTN was developed to be as intuitive and simple to use as possible. This is reflected in the excellent adoption rates for the platform.
Candidate numbers expanded week-on-week to a database size of 58,000. Partners grew rapidly too, to over 3,000 users who posted an average of 300 job posts per week. We also supported Cisco with partner, candidate awareness, user training and development.
The innovation and effectiveness of the CPTN has been recognised by the recruitment industry. It received the award for Best Online Recruitment Platform at the Recruitment Business Awards (RBAs).
